Wanna Make a Stamp?

Many of our MetalClay team members love to create original illustrations and textures to help make their designs unique. Some carve directly into the dry clay, some make use of molds, some send designs away to be made into stamps.

Senior Instructor and first place winner of the Saul Bell Design Award, Patrik Kusek was recently asked to demonstrate his method of etching using Photopolymer Plates (PPP's) on HGTV's That's Clever. He was thoughtful enough to upload it onto YouTube and I uploaded it here for your edjamacation and enjoyment.

We're giving away a trade secret here, but science is so fascinating and as an aging hippy, I always love an excuse to dust off my old black light! Note: You can also use the kind of lamp that is designed to cure nails in the salon or even plain ol' sunshine to develop these high tech tools and dies.

I love ppp's. Only really got into them but really enjoy them. Patrik did a good job.
